How to cultivate corals

Coral Growth Conditions

The most suitable water temperature for coral growth is 25℃ ~ 30℃, which cannot be lower than 18℃ and cannot be higher than 36℃. It requires sufficient light. To carry out photosynthesis, it needs sufficient light conditions. Its growth also requires a solid base, which is conducive to the plant's good fixation and growth.

How to keep corals

Coral plants prefer a high temperature and high humidity growing environment and are not resistant to dryness and cold. During the maintenance process, they need to be kept warm and humid with sufficient light. In winter, the temperature should be kept above 10 degrees to safely overwinter.

Coral watering

Corals are generally watered once every 1-3 days. During the growing season, watering should be alternating between dry and wet. Keep the potting soil slightly dry. Frequent watering should not be done. Long-term excessive moisture in the potting soil can easily cause root rot of the plant. In winter, watering needs to be controlled to keep the potting soil slightly moist.

Coral fertilization

Corals do not require much fertilizer. If too much fertilizer and water are applied, it will cause the stem nodes to be uneven in thickness and height, which will affect the beauty of the plant shape. Proper control of fertilization is beneficial to the beauty of the plant shape. During the growth period, apply a thin combination of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, with potassium as the main fertilizer, once a month. Stop fertilizing in winter.

Coral Pest Control

A common disease of coral is sooty mold, which can be treated by spraying with thiophanate-methyl, carbendazim, and fungicide. The plants also need to be pruned moderately to create good internal ventilation conditions.

How to Keep Corals at Home

When cultivating corals at home, you can use well-drained, fluffy humus soil as the cultivation medium. Usually place it in a place with sufficient sunlight for maintenance. The plants can only grow vigorously when there is sufficient light. The most suitable growth temperature is between 15℃-25℃.

When watering corals, you can follow the cycle watering method. Do not water the plants unless they are completely dry. If you need to water them, water them thoroughly. It is sufficient to apply fertilizer once a month during the growing season.

Coral Care Tips

Coral is poisonous, but it is harmless to the human body as long as you don't touch it. If you have children at home, it is recommended to place it where children can't touch it. In addition, it has the function of absorbing formaldehyde and protecting against radiation, so you can put a pot next to the computer.
