How to reproduce sunflower

Sunflowers are propagated by sowing. Their seeds can be reproduced, and the natural way of reproducing offspring is seed reproduction, which has the fastest speed.

Sunflower breeding time

Sunflowers are suitable for sowing in spring from March to April. The suitable temperature for seed germination is between 18 and 25 degrees. Harvesting begins about 36 days after the sunflower blooms.

Sunflower propagation method

Sunflower cutting propagation

It is not recommended to use the cutting method for sunflower propagation, as the survival rate is low and the yield is not high. The more common method is sowing propagation.

Sunflower seed propagation

The sowing time of sunflowers is usually from late March to mid-April. The earlier the time, the higher the yield and quality of the plants. Direct sowing or seedling transplanting can be done. You can choose plants with bright colors, strong plants, and no diseases and pests as reserve plants. When the seeds are ripe, pick the flower disk together and dry them in the sun, or take out the seeds to dry and store them in a gauze bag.

Sunflower breeding precautions

Sunflowers are mainly propagated by sowing. Peat soil is suitable for sowing. The seeds can be fully mixed with the new lipid film to reduce the occurrence of diseases and pests and increase the survival rate of seeds. It likes an environment with good light and the suitable growth temperature is between 15 and 30 degrees. It grows rapidly in the summer.
