The growth environment and characteristics of roses

Rose growth environment

Roses are suitable for growing in a warm environment and like plenty of sunlight. They do not have high requirements for soil, but are generally suitable for growing in fertile soil, where they can grow luxuriantly and bloom more beautifully.

Rose is a temperate tree species that grows well in neutral or slightly acidic soils that are rich in humus and well-drained. It prefers light and grows poorly in environments with poor light. It is not tolerant of waterlogging and the lower leaves turn yellow and fall off when damp. It has strong germination ability and grows fast.

Suitable growth temperature for roses

Roses prefer a cool and sunny growing environment. The suitable growth temperature is between 15 and 25 degrees. The ambient temperature cannot be too low or too high, otherwise it will affect the growth.

Rose growth process

The growth of roses is relatively simple. After germination, emergence, and leaf growth, the next step is to bloom flowers. Its reproduction is mainly by division, which is carried out before germination in March or after leaf fall in autumn. The survival rate of cuttings is not high. Single-petal roses can also be propagated by sowing, either in spring or autumn.

Rose planting time and method

1. The best time to plant roses is generally in early winter or early spring. The seeds to be sown need to be undamaged, healthy and full. The planting soil should be soft. Turn the soil over and add base fertilizer before planting.

2. Before sowing, soak the seeds in warm water, then put them in wet sand. After the white color appears, sprinkle them on the surface of the prepared flower soil, keep a distance of more than 1 cm between the seeds, then cover them with a thin layer of soil, and then water them to germinate.
