What are the cultivation methods and precautions of Junzhilan

Junzhilan Introduction

Clivia belongs to the angiosperms, monocots. Clivia is usually propagated by only two methods, mainly sowing and division.

How to cultivate Junzhilan

The suitable growth temperature for Junzhilan is between 10-25 degrees, which should not be lower than 5 degrees. It likes semi-shaded environment with bright scattered light. It is suitable for planting in loose, fertile, slightly acidic organic soil. You can mix leaf mold, compost soil and slag to prepare it.

Sprinkle an appropriate amount of water on the soil of the monarch orchid every day, and water it when it is dry. Do not water the leaves when watering. During the growth process, it is necessary to apply dilute nitrogen fertilizer in time, generally 1-2 times a month, and do not use concentrated fertilizers.

Watering method

Monarch orchid has well-developed fleshy roots that can store water. Therefore, do not water it too much on a daily basis and do not allow water to accumulate. Water it only when the surface of the soil in the pot is dry, and keep it slightly moist.

Fertilization method

Junzhilan likes fertilizer, but cannot tolerate concentrated fertilizer. The principle of fertilizing is to apply thin fertilizer frequently. Generally, dry fertilizer, water fertilizer and solid fertilizer can be applied. During the vigorous growth period, thin fertilizer can be applied once every half a month.

Pruning methods

After a period of care, the yellow and dead leaves of the Monarch Orchid need to be trimmed to reduce nutrient consumption. The rotten roots can be trimmed when repotting every year. After flowering, the withered flowers and flower stems can be trimmed to promote the next flowering.

Precautions for breeding of Junzhilan

The flowering period of Monarch Orchid is from New Year's Day to the Spring Festival. Excess flower arrows need to be cut off in summer. If they are not trimmed in time, more nutrients will be consumed, affecting normal growth and flowering in winter and spring.
