What are the cultivation methods and precautions of bamboo cypress?

Bamboo cypress cultivation method

Bamboo cypress is cultivated in Zhejiang, Fujian, Jiangxi, Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Sichuan and other regions in China. It likes a warm and humid environment and is suitable for growing in temperatures of 18-26 degrees. It is not cold-resistant and can only tolerate a short period of minus 7 degrees.

Watering method

During the growth period of bamboo cypress, grasp the appropriate amount and frequency of watering. Water frequently when the temperature is high, but avoid it when the air is particularly dry. You can spray water on the leaves to ensure that the leaves are dark green and bright. If the temperature is low in winter, control watering.

Fertilization method

During the vigorous growth period of bamboo cypress, apply thin fertilizer 2-3 times and control the amount. In winter, the plant will enter a dormant state, and you need to reduce or stop fertilizing at this time.

Pruning methods

When the bamboo cypress enters a dormant or semi-dormant period, you can cut off the weak, diseased, insect-infested, dead, or overcrowded branches. This will reduce the loss of nutrients and help it survive the winter better, so that new buds can sprout faster in the spring of the following year.

Precautions for bamboo cypress cultivation

If the potting soil of the bamboo cypress is not replaced in time, it will easily become hardened, and the nutrients in it will decrease. If the roots cannot absorb nutrients, they will not grow well. Therefore, the pot needs to be changed once every spring, and the roots need to be trimmed when changing the pot.
