Beetroot is generally an annual crop and the planting time is not seasonal. Most of them are planted in spring. The best time is February or March in spring, and it can be transplanted around April. It can also be planted in April in northern regions such as Heilongjiang and Inner Mongolia.

There are many varieties of beets in my country, which are generally divided into four types according to their uses: sugar beets, fodder beets, root beets and leaf beets. However, there is not much difference in the planting time of the same variety of beets.

Nowadays, thanks to the development of technology, fresh beetroots can be seen for sale all year round. However, naturally grown beets mostly mature between May and October, with a yield of about 3.5-4.5 tons per acre. The purchase price by sugar factories is 310-380 yuan per ton.

1. Land preparation and fertilization

Beetroot has relatively high requirements for soil. When selecting a site, you must ensure that the soil is loose, use fertilizers reasonably, and make sure that farmyard manure is well decomposed when used.

2. Seed selection and planting

Select high-quality varieties with strong disease resistance for planting, soak and disinfect the seeds before sowing, and then plant them directly into the soil.

3. Weeding

During the reproductive process of beets, weeds must be removed at least three times, and top dressing must be applied in time while weeding to ensure the nutrients needed for growth.
