How to divide Jade Dew

How to divide Jade Dew

Time for division of Jade Dew

Jade is a plant of the Asphodeloides family and the genus Vallisneria. The main species of jade include large window jade, dwarf jade, and green jade. They are generally divided during the growing season. The temperature during this period is more suitable for their growth, which can increase their chances of survival.

Method of propagation of Jade Dew by division

Jade plant can be divided when repotting or during the growing season. Select the small plant next to the mother plant and cut it with a sterilized sharp knife. If there are divisions nearby, you can dig them out directly. Those with roots can be planted directly. If there are no roots or there are cuts, you need to put it in a cool place in the sun for 1-2 days, and then plant it after the cut has been completely dry.

Steps for dividing jade dew

Select small plants next to the mother plant of Jade Dew, and you can cut them off with sterilized scissors. If there are independent branches, you only need to dig them out. If they have roots, they can be planted directly in fertile and loose soil. If they have no roots, they need to be dried and then planted in the soil and maintained in a semi-shaded environment.

It does not need excessive watering after planting to prevent part of the soil from rotting, but it should not be too dry, as this is not conducive to its rooting. Just keep it slightly moist, and it should not be placed in the sun. You can choose a location with good light to grow it, and wait until the new roots have fully grown out before maintaining it according to normal maintenance methods.

Just bought the Jade Dew division

After dividing the newly bought jade plant, do not plant it too deep. Just insert it lightly so that it can maintain balance. Placing it in a strong light or dark environment after planting will cause it to grow poorly. The soil must be selected with good water permeability so that the roots can breathe normally.
