Can Guanyin bamboo be planted in the soil?

Guanyin bamboo can be grown in soil. Before doing so, you need to wait for it to grow roots. After preparing the soil, you need to lay a layer of pebbles at the bottom of the pot as a water seepage layer before planting it in the pot. Then you can plant the Guanyin bamboo in the pot.

For soil cultivation, you need to prepare soil with good drainage and air permeability. It likes to grow in a slightly humid environment, but is afraid of waterlogging. You can prepare it with garden soil + coarse sand + leaf mold.

How to plant Guanyin bamboo in soil

1. Pot soil

Guanyin bamboo likes slightly acidic soil. The soil formula can be: 2/5 humus soil, 2/5 garden soil, 1/5 peat soil, and some sand and organic matter mixed together.

2. Potted plants

Plant the cut Guanyin bamboo seedlings upright in small clay pots with a diameter of about 10 cm and a height of about 7 cm, fill them with plain soil, and then plant them in the seedling bed together with the small pots at a plant spacing of 15 cm x 20 cm.

3. Fertilization

Apply sufficient base fertilizer before planting Guanyin bamboo. If the soil fertility is insufficient, you can supplement it with compound fertilizer, and then apply thin liquid fertilizer, bean cake water or compound fertilizer every two weeks or so.

4. Watering

In addition to watering thoroughly after planting, Guanyin Bamboo also needs to be watered seasonally for maintenance. Generally, it should be watered once every 1-2 days in spring, once every 4-5 days in early autumn, and once every 7-10 days in winter.
