Long-staple cotton is generally more suitable for growing in an environment with a large temperature difference between day and night and sufficient light. Generally, a dry climate is best for growth. Usually, the production area of ​​long-staple cotton is mainly concentrated in Xinjiang, and the quality of long-staple cotton in Xinjiang is the best.

The most suitable growth temperature for long-staple cotton is around 14-25 degrees. Long-staple cotton is not cold-resistant and is more afraid of freezing. Generally, it has higher temperature requirements during the seedling stage. When the temperature is too low, it will affect normal growth.

Long-staple cotton growth period and process

It is most suitable to plant long-staple cotton in spring. The growth cycle of long-staple cotton is about 200 days. It is generally most suitable to plant it in places with little rain. Among them, the most long-staple cotton is grown in southern Xinjiang.

Long-staple cotton goes through the stages of germination, seedling, budding, flowering and harvesting during its growth. Generally after flowering, long-staple cotton will grow a green conical fruit. After the fruit cracks, the skin will slowly become woody.

Long-staple cotton planting process and methods

1. Select the land: plow the soil about 30 cm deep, then apply some appropriate amount of farmyard manure and nitrogen fertilizer as base fertilizer, and dig trenches after the soil is dry.

2. Seed selection and germination: Select plump and healthy long-staple cotton seeds, then soak them in warm water for 5 or 6 hours, then take them out and cover them with a wet cloth and keep them in a humid place for about 4 hours.

3. Planting: Plant the germinated long-staple cotton seeds in the grooves of the soil, then cover them with soil, and then water the soil thoroughly.
