Catharanthus roseus is also known as Vinca roseus, with aliases such as Goose Head Red, Sanwanhua, Calendula, Four Seasons Spring, and Daily New. It is a plant of the Apocynaceae family and the genus Vinca.

Daily flowering plant prefers high temperature and high humidity environment and is not cold-resistant. The suitable temperature for seed germination is between 20 and 25 degrees. It is usually sown in spring from March to May and is mostly cultivated as an annual.

How to sow seeds for Tiantianhua

1. To make it bloom every day, you need to choose full seeds, expose them to the sun for 2-3 days, disinfect them, and place them in an environment of 20 degrees for germination.

2. Prepare loose fertile loam or sandy loam for planting. You can apply some base fertilizer. After sowing, cover it with a thin layer of soil, water it thoroughly, maintain it in a semi-shaded place, and wait for it to germinate slowly.

Tips for planting daily flowers

1. Light regulation: Tiantianhua is a sun-loving plant and needs sufficient light during its growth and flowering period. Sufficient light is also helpful in preventing the plant from growing too tall. However, when the light intensity is high in summer, appropriate shade is also needed.

2. Temperature control: Daily Blooming Plant is sensitive to low temperature. If the temperature is low in winter, it needs to be moved indoors for maintenance. It is relatively resistant to high temperatures, but if the temperature is too high, it needs to be cooled down.

Note: The plant needs to be pinched once or twice during the daily flowering and growth period. The first pinching can be done when the seedlings grow 3 to 4 pairs of true leaves, and the second pinching can be done when the new branches have 1 to 2 pairs of true leaves. This can promote branching and control the flowering period. During the growth period, timely watering and fertilization are also needed to make it lush and bloom more vigorously.

The growth cycle of Tiantianhua only takes 14-15 weeks. Its flowering period is very long, starting from April to May and continuing until autumn, or even throughout the year. However, the opening time of a single flower is relatively short, generally a flower can bloom for 3 to 5 days.
