Fir tree planting methods and precautions

Fir tree planting methods and precautions

How to plant fir trees

After sowing, the fir trees will germinate and emerge from the soil in about 30 days. The grass covering needs to be lifted. After uncovering the seedlings, shade measures should be taken to maintain 30% to 40%. Pay attention to the prevention and control of fir damping-off disease for the newly emerged seedlings. After they are all unearthed, weed and loosen the soil in time, apply quick-acting fertilizers, drain well after rain, water frequently in the dry season, keep the soil moist, and do thinning work in batches.

Steps of planting Chinese fir

You can buy fir seedlings on the market, which are about one year old and about 45 cm tall. Wrap the roots with relatively thick soil to reduce water loss. Usually, it is more suitable to plant in February or March after the New Year. Choose suitable soil, then dig a hole with a width of about 20 cm and a depth of about 20 cm, and bury the roots in the soil.

Fir Management Notes

1. Site selection

Fir is suitable for planting at the foot of the mountain, in valleys, and on shady slopes where the soil is deep, loose, fertile, moist, and well-drained. It likes warm and humid environments, is afraid of wind and drought, and can grow quickly and mature early when planted in fertile and loose soil.

2. Plant at the right time

Chinese fir likes warm seasons and is usually planted in early spring in February. Choose one-year-old strong seedlings for planting. You can cut off the uneven fibrous roots, and then wrap the roots of the plants with thin yellow mud. Plant them straight and cover them with a layer of soil. Compact them after lifting the seedlings. Lifting the seedlings is conducive to the stretching of the root system, and compacting is conducive to absorbing water and easy survival.
