Planting conditions and growth environment requirements of Sichuan Fritillaria

Introduction to Sichuan Fritillary

Chuan Fritillaria is the underground bulb of the Liliaceae plants Wuhua Fritillaria, Gansu Fritillaria, Curly Leaf Fritillaria and Lingsha Fritillaria. It can be used as medicine and has the effects of moistening the lungs and resolving phlegm, clearing away heat and dispersing nodules. It is also known as Bo Mu and Mu Long Jing. It can be divided into four categories according to its origin: Chuan Fritillaria, Zhejiang Fritillaria, Tu Fritillaria and Yi Fritillaria.

Fritillaria cirrhosa cultivation conditions

Sichuan Fritillary prefers a cool environment and has the characteristics of being cold-resistant, moisture-loving, afraid of high humidity and shade-loving. It is suitable for planting in loose and fertile soil and generally grows on mountain brown soil, dark brown soil and alpine meadow soil.

Climate and temperature for planting Fritillaria cirrhosa

Sichuan Fritillaria prefers a cool environment. If the temperature is above 30 degrees or the ground temperature is above 25 degrees, the plant will wither. It cannot survive in areas with low altitude and high temperature. It is suitable for planting in fertile and loose, deep, well-drained, humus-rich, slightly acidic soil with a pH value of 6.2-7.

Suitable areas for growing Fritillaria cirrhosa

The four source plants of Sichuan Fritillary have a relatively concentrated distribution range, mainly in the eastern part of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. They are not resistant to strong light, and the high temperature and strong light in summer cause Sichuan Fritillary to wither early. They are mainly produced in Sichuan, Tibet, Yunnan and other regions. Dark purple Fritillary is mainly produced in Sichuan, Gansu Fritillary is mainly distributed in Gansu, Qinghai and Sichuan, and Fritillaria thunbergii is distributed in Yunnan, Sichuan, Qinghai, Tibet and other provinces and autonomous regions.

Sichuan Fritillary Planting Time

Fritillaria cirrhosa can be propagated by sowing, division or cuttings. Sowing should be carried out in spring. The suitable temperature for germination is 23℃-25℃. The seeds need to be treated with wet sand stratification before sowing. They will germinate 10-15 days after sowing. The planting site needs to be prepared before freezing, and then sowing can begin. Sowing is usually carried out in September and October.

Benefits of Sichuan Fritillaria cultivation

The benefit of Fritillaria cirrhosa is about 150 kilograms per mu, and the planting prospects are still very considerable. The main reason is that it has high medicinal value and has the functions of relieving cough and phlegm, clearing away heat and dispersing nodules. It is produced in Qinghai, Sichuan, Yunnan, Shaanxi, Gansu and other places.

Key points of Sichuan Fritillaria cultivation technology

When planting Fritillaria cirrhosa, the cultivation environment needs to be considered. Areas with temperatures above 30 degrees will cause it to wither. Semi-shady mountains are suitable. First, choose sandy soil with an altitude of 1500-5000m to level it, make ridges, and then plant and disinfect it. It should be dug up in the third year after sowing. During the growth period, it is necessary to weed and loosen the soil, and prevent and control diseases and insect pests.
