How to get Magnolia seeds

Magnolia is a plant of the angiosperms, dicots, and Magnoliaceae. Magnolia seeds are suitable for growing in loose, fertile, and breathable soil, so fertilizing and watering the soil on time is conducive to the better growth of magnolia. Of course, not excessively, and special attention should be paid to good soil drainage.

Magnolia seeds

It is best to use half-opened flowers. First remove all the leaves on the flowers, and then use a bracket to tie them up. Too many flowers will make them difficult to dry, so try to make as few as possible in each bunch, hang them upside down and place them in a well-ventilated place to dry.

Collect Magnolia seeds

In order to better propagate white magnolia, it is necessary to collect high-quality, full seeds, that is, seeds with good quality, full grains, freshness and no diseases.

Magnolia seed preservation

Magnolia seeds are collected and sown in late September and early October. They cannot be stored, and if they are stored they must be refrigerated in river sand, as the seeds on the tree have lost their ability to germinate.

Magnolia seeds planting

The time to plant white magnolia can be chosen in autumn or spring. If it is autumn, choose around November when the temperature is relatively cool and the seedlings can be grown indoors. If it is planted in spring, choose between the beginning of spring and Qingming Festival.

The seeds can be picked in autumn and sown as soon as they are picked. If they are not sown immediately, they can be stored in sand. Remove the outer shell of the seeds, soak them in warm water for two days, rub the outer seed coat, take out the seeds and place them in a ventilated place to dry.

Choose a loose and fertile place, sow the seeds, and water them thoroughly. After the seedlings grow out, you need to take shade measures. When the seedlings grow stably, you can transplant them. First choose a good location, and then plant the seedlings with the soil ball in the new soil.
