Garlic sprout growth cycle

Garlic sprouts have the spicy flavor of garlic. Under normal circumstances, it takes about 1-2 months for garlic sprouts to mature if grown at home. Its growth cycle is closely related to climate and maintenance. Under scientific conditions, it will mature in 20-25 days.

Garlic sprout growth rate

When planting garlic, choose full garlic cloves and place them neatly in the container. Then water them thoroughly to soak the roots and allow the garlic cloves to fully absorb water. In a few days, the garlic seedlings will split open, and small seedlings will grow from the middle and small buds will grow. Roots will also grow from the bottom, and in a few days they will grow tall and thick.

After soaking the garlic in water, the top will crack on the second day and short roots will appear at the bottom. Small leaves will grow from the third or fourth day. On the ninth and tenth day, the growth rate will be faster. On about the twelfth day, it will have grown a lot. On the fifteenth day, the tallest one will have grown to about 15 centimeters.

Garlic sprout growth cycle management

Different planting seasons and planting methods have a certain impact on the yield of garlic seedlings. If it is planted outdoors, the yield of garlic seedlings per mu is usually around 6,000 jin.

It takes about 100 days from planting to harvesting of spring garlic. It is usually planted in early March and harvested in late June. Autumn garlic is planted in late September to early October and harvested in early June of the following year. The whole growing period is about 220-280 days.

Temperature management: Garlic sprouts grow better in an environment of 15-25°C. Spring and autumn are more suitable for growth, because the temperature is too high in summer and too low in winter, which has a certain impact on the growth and development of garlic sprouts. Therefore, you must choose the appropriate time for planting.

Fertilization management: When producing garlic seedlings in a greenhouse or shed, it is necessary to apply well-rotted and finely crushed high-quality farmyard manure before planting. After spreading it on the ground, deep plowing should be done, the fertilizer and soil should be mixed evenly, and the soil should be raked flat to make ridges. In order to promote the rapid growth of garlic seedlings, foliar topdressing should also be carried out.
