Introduction to wolfberry

Wolfberry is a plant of the genus Lycium of the Solanaceae family. It is a general term for species of the genus Lycium, including commercial wolfberry, plant Ningxia wolfberry, and Chinese wolfberry. The wolfberries commonly used for medicinal and edible purposes are mostly the fruit of Ningxia wolfberry, "wolfberry".

Ningxia wolfberry has the largest planting area in my country, mainly distributed in the northwest region. The common varieties in other regions are mostly Chinese wolfberries, and the wolfberries produced in Ningxia Zhongning have been awarded the national climate mark for agricultural product climate quality.

What soil should be used to grow wolfberry?

1. The basis for the growth and development of wolfberry plants is soil. They are suitable for growing in places with good ventilation, loose soil and deep soil, which is conducive to root growth and nutrient absorption, and is of great significance to improving fruit yield and quality.

2. Wolfberry has strong adaptability to soil and can grow on various soil textures such as sandy loam, light loam, medium loam or clay. To achieve high quality and high yield, the most ideal soil texture is light loam and medium loam.

Medium loam : Medium loam is a type of loam, composed of powders of varying coarseness and fineness, with roughly equal contents of sand and clay. It feels slightly rough and is plastic and can be kneaded into small strips of soil.

Preparation of wolfberry nutrient soil

The nutrient soil for wolfberry can be one part garden soil and one part river sand. It is best to choose particles of even size so that it is more breathable. Mix it evenly with one part coconut bran and then plant it. Also add some carbendazim and rooting powder.
