Morning glory seed sowing time

Morning glory seeds are suitable for sowing in spring, specifically from April to May. In warm areas in the south, they can be sown earlier. Of course, if the temperature is suitable in autumn, they can also be sown. The temperature suitable for germination of morning glory is 20℃-30℃.

Method and steps for planting morning glory seeds

1. Seed selection

Before sowing morning glory, you must select healthy and plump seeds. Do not use seeds with insect pests, which will affect the germination rate. In addition, the seeds need to be soaked in warm water before sowing. The soaking time is about 4 to 6 hours to facilitate seed germination.

2. Planting soil

You can choose an ordinary seedling pot and fill it with an appropriate amount of nutrient soil. You can also mix the soil yourself, which can generally be a mixture of leaf mold, sandy soil, and garden soil. The soil must be loose, fertile, and well-drained.

3. Sowing method

Sow the processed seeds on the soil, cover the seeds with a thin layer of soil, the thickness of the thin soil is about 2 cm, then water them thoroughly and maintain them in a well-ventilated environment. They usually germinate in 3-5 days. After germination, water them appropriately, increase the light, and let the seedlings grow. After the seeds grow 2 leaves, you can consider transplanting.

4. Transplanting

After the morning glory seedlings grow 2-3 true leaves, they can be transplanted into trays. You can choose ceramic pots and use humus and sandy loam as the soil. Apply a little base fertilizer to increase the fertility of the soil, and then plant the seedlings in the pots. After planting, water them appropriately and keep them in a sunny place. They will bloom in about 3 months.
