The seeds of winter melon usually grow inside the fruit. They are flat and oval in shape, about 1 cm long, with a yellow-white skin. Choose sunny weather to occasionally pick the seeds, and choose seeds from fruits with thick flesh and small cavities.

Winter melon seeds need to be taken when the weather is clear. After removing the pulp, wash all the mucus and pulp on the surface, and then dry it and it can be used for planting.

Winter melon is a plant that can be propagated by seeds. The seeds must be cracked before planting to germinate. It is usually sown in spring and autumn, specifically in January-February and July-August. It will germinate about a week after sowing.

1. Land preparation and fertilization

Winter melon seeds are best planted in soft, fertile, well-drained soil. Sufficient base fertilizer should be applied before planting, and drainage measures should be taken around the soil.

2. Sowing

The seed coat of winter melon is very hard. It should be soaked in clean water overnight before sowing. Then, it should be sown in holes. The row spacing should be controlled at about 40 cm. 1-2 seeds should be sown in each hole. Transplant them after the seedlings grow out.
