It is best to sow black sesame when the climate is warm, and it can be planted around May. If it is autumn sesame, the time can be a little later, postponed to early or mid-July. The planting time is different in different regions. The Huanghuai region starts planting in late April.

Black sesame planting method

1. Site selection

Before planting black sesame, you must choose a suitable plot of land. Black sesame prefers high terrain and well-drained and irrigated land. Then you need to deep plow the soil, apply sufficient base fertilizer, and then lower, level and hake it in preparation for sowing.

2. Seed selection

Before sowing black sesame seeds, they must be soaked and disinfected. Put the seeds in a solution of carbendazim and water and soak for about half an hour. If it is summer sesame, it can be sown early, but the planting should not be too dense to ensure its normal growth.

3. Management

After planting black sesame, you can water it thoroughly once, or you can build furrows and surrounding ditches in advance to improve the drainage and irrigation capacity of the field. Then, you should water it according to the growth conditions of the black sesame and the dryness and wetness of the soil. Do not water it too much, and drain it in time if water accumulates.

Black sesame planting precautions

During the growth period of black sesame, top dressing needs to be done. If the seedlings are sparse and grow weakly, then urea should be applied appropriately. During ordinary top dressing, urea, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers can be applied to provide sufficient nutrition for the growth of black sesame.
