Growth environment conditions of Phoebe nanmu

Phoebe nanmu is mainly distributed in areas with an altitude of 1000 to 1500 meters. The best quality ones are mainly distributed in Qionglai and Mount Emei in Sichuan, China. It likes warm and humid semi-shady environment and cannot tolerate direct sunlight. It is commonly found in shady and moist valleys, depressions and rivers.

Phoebe nanmu likes to grow in a warm environment. The ambient temperature can be maintained at around 17 degrees, which is conducive to better growth of the plant. It has a certain degree of cold resistance, but is not resistant to extreme cold. If the temperature is below minus 10 degrees, Phoebe nanmu can easily be frostbitten.

Growth humidity of golden nanmu

Phoebe nanmu likes a humid environment. The annual rainfall in the planting area is 1400-1600 mm. It needs to be watered frequently during daily maintenance, every 2 to 3 days, to keep the soil inside the pot moist. Before watering Phoebe nanmu in winter, it is necessary to check the dryness of the soil. If the inside is dry, water the plant immediately to soak all the soil.

Phoebe nanmu has certain requirements for the soil. It is necessary to select neutral or slightly acidic alluvial soil or loam soil with deep soil layer and good drainage. It is not advisable to plant the plant in thick soil, otherwise it will affect the root growth of Phoebe nanmu.

Phoebe nanmu grows all year round, with more vigorous growth in spring and autumn, with a growth cycle of 50 to 60 years. The growth rate of Phoebe nanmu is relatively slow in the early stage. Generally, the diameter of a 20-year-old Phoebe nanmu is only 5 cm. It will reach its vigorous growth period after 60 years of planting. The fastest growth period is between 50 and 60 years.
