Spring corn planting time and key points

1. Planting time

Spring corn is usually planted in April and May every year. The specific sowing time varies depending on the region. The Shandong area is suitable for planting in early April, the Northeast region is suitable for planting from April 20th to May 10th, and the southern region is generally planted in late March and early April.

2. Land preparation and fertilization

Before planting corn, you need to prepare the land and apply fertilizer. Choose a suitable plot, then deep plow the soil to a depth of about 35 cm to make the soil loose and breathable, and apply sufficient fertilizer as base fertilizer to the soil to improve soil fertility. After fine raking and leveling, make ridges, and then you can prepare for planting.

3. Seeding and planting

Choose corn seeds of suitable varieties and sow them into the soil with a row spacing of 65 cm, a plant spacing of 18 cm and a depth of 5 cm. After sowing, water them appropriately to keep the soil slightly moist. This way, the corn will germinate and grow quickly. After it germinates, pay attention to thinning and replanting them in time.
