How to deal with the small lily after it blooms and how to manage it after the flowers fade

Treatment of lily after flowering

1. Prune the remaining flowers

The lily of the valley needs to be pruned in time after flowering. After each flower withers, use sterilized scissors to prune from the bottom of the pedicel and trim away the withered flowers to avoid excessive consumption of nutrients.

2. Water regularly

After the lily of the valley blooms, it needs to be watered regularly, usually once a week, and the leaves should be sprayed with water appropriately to ensure a slightly moist environment for the soil. In particular, pay attention to watering along the wall of the flowerpot during the rainy season, and do not allow water to accumulate.

How to grow lilies

The flowering period of the lily of the valley is generally between May and October, which can last up to five months. If it is properly maintained, it can bloom all year round. If it is not properly maintained, it can only bloom once a year.

1. The growth of lily requires sufficient light. The daily light should not be less than 6 hours. Do not shade it excessively to avoid poor growth. In spring, autumn and winter, it can be exposed to direct light, but in the hot summer, try to avoid direct light and keep it in a place with soft light.

2. When fertilizing the lily, apply enough base fertilizer when planting, and apply fertilizer every 10-15 days during the growing period. Apply 1%-3% potassium dihydrogen phosphate when it blooms to promote rapid flowering.
