Planting Mint in the North

Mint can be grown in the north and can grow all over the country . It has strong adaptability and is not demanding on soil. It is distributed in all regions of China. However, mint prefers a warm and humid environment and often grows beside water and ditches. Therefore, it can also be used as a covering plant in moist low-lying areas. It has a strong growth momentum and can quickly cover the ground. It is also easy to propagate, generally by division, cuttings or seed sowing.

Mint growing areas

Mint is suitable for growing in a wide range of areas, and in my country, mint production areas are more widely distributed, and mint is grown all over the country. Because mint has a strong adaptability to environmental and climatic conditions, but it is a long-day crop and prefers sunlight, so it is generally more distributed in areas with sufficient sunlight and milder temperatures.

Methods of growing mint in the north

1. Planting

Wash the mint seeds with clean water, then prepare some warm water, soak the seeds in warm water for about five hours, let the seeds absorb enough water, and then put the seeds in a foam box. Then put the foam box in a semi-shaded environment, cover it with a layer of wet gauze, and spray the gauze regularly every day to keep it moist and let it germinate as soon as possible.

2. Potting soil

When planting mint, try to choose a clay pot with good air permeability and sandy soil with good drainage and ventilation. Before planting, the soil should be exposed to the sun for a few days. This can kill bacteria and parasites in the soil. Then pour the soil into the clay pot and water the soil in the pot appropriately to make the soil looser.

3. Planting

Place the sprouted mint seedlings on the loosened soil surface. The seedlings should not be too close together and there should be some distance between them. Then sprinkle a layer of planting soil on the seedlings and water them in small amounts to keep the breeding soil moist at all times. Finally, place them in a sunny and semi-shaded environment and wait for the seedlings to grow.
