How to prepare orchid soil and how to prepare culture soil

Orchid soil requirements

Different orchid varieties need different orchid soils for planting. Orchids can be grown with basic orchid soil. The preparation of orchid soil is generally based on leaf mold, followed by red soil, and then it needs to be prepared and used with other materials for better use.

Then apply ferrous sulfate once in a while to increase the acidity of the orchid soil, keeping the orchid soil in a slightly acidic state, which is conducive to the growth of orchids.

How to match soil for orchids

1. Blue soil selection

There are many varieties of orchids. For example, the orchids grown in pots in the north include Dendrobium, Tiger Orchid, and Monophyllum, so different orchid varieties need to be planted with different orchid soils.

General orchids can be grown with basic orchid soil. The commonly used cultivation materials for the orchids described above are mainly peat moss, fern roots or dragon bone roots mixed with a small amount of broad-leaved tree leaf mold and dry cow dung. Before spreading the soil, you can use broken pot pieces or broken bricks to pad the bottom of the pot to create a good environment for the growth of orchids.

2. Prepare blue soil

Orchid soil is mostly prepared with leaf mold as the main soil and red soil as the secondary soil, and then it is prepared for use with other materials. When preparing, use an iron basin to fully mix the materials in proportion, stir evenly, and pour an appropriate amount of water to make the orchid soil moist and make the soil and seeds fully harmonious. At the same time, it can also kill the pathogens and pests in the soil.

Precautions for preparing orchid soil

The most basic requirements for orchid cultivation are these four key points: slightly acidic, loose and breathable, moisturizing and draining, and mild and lasting fertility. The last three are very easy to understand, but the first one is easily overlooked.

Many people think that as long as it is humus soil on the mountain, it must be suitable for growing orchids. However, orchids need acidic soil to grow, so this point needs attention. The growth of orchids is also inseparable from a kind of fungus, orchid fungus.
