Requirements for Cymbidium planting materials(1) Loose and breathable, the root system has obvious respiration function, and ventilation can make the root system breathe more smoothly. (2) Good drainage and moisture retention. This is mainly used when mixing planting materials, and the granular structure planting materials with water absorption function, such as: bark, large-grained volcanic rock, Akadama soil, etc. (3) The aggregate structure should be moderate. When planting Cymbidium orchids, the root system should fit well with the planting material, but also have more tiny gaps to maintain air circulation. (4) The acidity and alkalinity should be moderate. The planting material for Cymbidium orchids must be neutral to slightly acidic. The neutrality can be improved during the later fertilization. Slightly acidic is the best planting material. Various combinations of mixed planting materialsThe first Mix bark, red brick slag and weathered rock in a ratio of 1/3. Add some pine needle soil. The second Mix rotten wood blocks, weathered rocks, and Akadama soil in a ratio of 1/2, and add some pine needle soil. The third Mix small particles of honeycomb coal, bark, and pine needle soil in a ratio of one third each, and add part of perlite and part of hair. The fourth Take one third each of honeycomb coal powder, freshwater river sand particles and pine needle soil, mix them, and add some perlite. The fifth Mix one third each of bark, Akadama soil and freshwater river sand, and add a portion of pine needle soil. Mixed Cymbidium planting materials are the same for all kinds of plants. As long as the pellet structure is moderate, loose and breathable, the drainage is good, the moisture retention is strong, and the light fertilizer is slightly acidic, it will be fine. The mixture can be a mixture of multiple planting materials, or a simple mixture of a few. However, you must pay attention to the pH value, and there should not be too much fertilizer in the soil. |
