How to make the goldfish spider plant bloom and bloom (tips for growing it so that it will fill the pot in one year)

How to make the goldfish spider plant bloom

First, the soil for planting

Goldfish Chlorophytum is a typical flower that likes slightly acidic soil. When planting, you can use mixed soil, mix honeycomb coal powder + humus soil + freshwater river sand in a ratio of 1/3. Then add 10% perlite to increase the air permeability of the soil.

Spreading a layer of granular river sand or volcanic rock on the surface of the flowerpot can reduce the acidic humus being impacted by water and adhering to the leaves of the goldfish spider plant to avoid infection.

Second, the planting environment

Goldfish Chlorophytum likes a warm and humid semi-shade environment and try to avoid excessive exposure to the sun. Excessive exposure to the sun will make the leaves appear dull and cause them to fall off.

The most suitable growth temperature is 18~28℃. If the temperature is continuously below 10℃, the leaves will turn yellow and dry, and will be frozen immediately if the temperature is below 5 degrees Celsius.

In addition to low temperatures, if the temperature continues to exceed 30°C, it will also be sunburned and drop leaves. In the high temperature in summer, the growth of the goldfish spider plant is very slow or almost stops. At this time, appropriate shade measures should be taken to avoid exposure to the sun to prevent sunburn.

Third, watering method

The overall watering method is to master the watering method of " don't water unless it's dry, and water thoroughly when you water ". However, you need to master it flexibly. Too much diligence or laziness in watering is not conducive to the growth of the goldfish spider plant.

Watering should be combined with the season. For example, in spring, when the weather is humid and the sunlight is mild, the soil drying time can be appropriately prolonged. Excessive watering can lead to root rot.

Slow growth in winter and excessive watering may also cause frost damage. In summer and autumn when the temperature is high and dry, it is necessary to ensure that the flower soil is alternately watered and dry, and to use spraying to replenish water and cool down.

Fourth, fertilization

The goldfish plant grows relatively fast and requires more water and fertilizer .

It is recommended to use urea with high nitrogen content for fertilization 1 to 2 times during the growth period. For subsequent fertilization, use "organic fertilizer" with balanced nutrients and bury it shallowly in the shallow surface of the flower soil by loosening the soil.

When applying fertilizer, pay attention to the different fertilizers in different growth periods. Do not apply fertilizer in early spring and winter when the temperature does not exceed 15 degrees Celsius.

Do not apply fertilizer when the temperature is over 32 degrees Celsius in summer. Applying fertilizer when the temperature is not suitable can easily burn the roots and breed bacteria and pathogens. When the temperature is suitable for the growth of goldfish spider plants, you should apply thin fertilizers frequently to add more nutrients.

Fifth, pruning

The germination power of the goldfish spider plant is very strong. The plant itself is not tall and is easy to hang down from the pot. After a period of natural growth, it is necessary to combine pruning and shaping, and at the same time reduce the consumption of nutrients. The pruned branches can be cut into river sand and survive, becoming seedlings of the goldfish spider plant.

(1) Remove some of the branches that are crowded and tangled together, so that the branches are sparse and dense , but they should not block each other's light and hinder ventilation.

(2) Place the pot of the goldfish hanging flower in a high position, then pick out some of the branches outside the pot and let them hang down from the pot . Pay attention to combing the old branches standing upright on the pot to avoid crowding and tangling.
