Cyclamen seed germination method

Cyclamen seed germination method

The germination of cyclamen is related to seasonal changes. When the temperature rises in summer, cyclamen will enter a dormant period. After that, it is best to put it in a cool and ventilated place with the flowerpot, water it moderately according to the actual situation, and then pay attention to shade. After the cyclamen has passed the dormant period, you can resume watering after about a week, and then new buds will slowly sprout out.

Cyclamen germination method

The method of germinating cyclamen is not difficult. First, we can get a basin of cold water, and then soak the cyclamen seeds in the cold water for one night. The next day, rinse the seeds and rub off the sticky substances on the surface of the seeds. Finally, put them in a clean wet gauze for germination. Generally, if you put it in an environment of about 25℃, it will turn white and germinate in about 1-2 days.

Cyclamen seedling planting

Step 1: Soaking seeds for germination

Cyclamen seeds need to be germinated before sowing. You can choose seeds with full grains and no disease, and soak them in warm water at 45 degrees for 2-3 hours. During the soaking process, remove the seeds that float on the water, are shriveled and have insect pests.

Step 2: Controlling seedling cultivation

When raising cyclamen seedlings, remember to wrap the seeds with wet paper towels, then find a warm environment to place them. At the same time, be sure to control the indoor temperature at around 25°C. During this period, spray water mist on the seeds regularly to maintain the moisture of the seeds.

Step 3: Planting in the soil

When choosing soil for cyclamen, it is best to use loose soil rich in organic matter. We can mix leaf mold, perlite and sand to make culture soil. After planting the seeds, cover the flowerpot with a piece of glass.
