When is the best time to transplant cabbage seedlings?

Cabbage seedlings are usually transplanted in autumn. If properly maintained, they will recover quickly. However, it takes at least 4-5 days to fully resume growth. It is normal for them to wilt partially during this period.

Transplanting time of cabbage seedlings

Cabbage seedlings are generally transplanted in autumn, and the best time is August to September each year. Before transplanting, the soil needs to be plowed to make it looser, and healthy and well-growing plants should be selected for transplanting.

Cabbage seedling transplanting method

1. Planting and land preparation

First, deep plow, level the land, and apply base fertilizer on the land to be planted. The base fertilizer is generally well-rotted farmyard manure. After leveling, make ridges that are 80 cm wide and 25 cm high.

2. Transplant

You can water the cabbage seedlings once before transplanting to avoid damaging the root system. Choose to transplant on a cloudy day or in the evening. After transplanting, water them thoroughly with "rooting water" and wait until new roots grow before carrying out normal management. The survival rate can be as high as 99%.

Management of cabbage seedlings after transplanting

The cabbage seedlings can be watered 1-5 days after transplanting, and topdressed with fertilizer 5-7 days later. Manure water can be used to water the vegetables. Note that the water should be diluted in a ratio of 1:50. Pay attention to the amount of fertilizer when applying topdressing. Roots will grow about a week after transplanting, and the amount of fertilizer can be increased after half a month.
