Method for germinating wintersweet seeds

Method for germinating wintersweet seeds

The reason why wintersweet needs to be germinated is that the shell of wintersweet seeds is very hard, so the germination speed is relatively slow. If you want to speed up the germination, you must take germination measures. In addition, before germination, you must choose high-quality, healthy and full seeds, which can appropriately increase the germination speed.

Method for accelerating germination of wintersweet

Soak the seeds you have chosen to plant in warm water for about a day. During the soaking period, you can select and discard the seeds floating on the water surface, and only the seeds that sink to the bottom of the water can be planted. After that, you can take them out of the water and plant them. When planting, try to be as even as possible. After sowing, you need to cover the soil with about 1 cm, and finally water them enough and wait for them to germinate.

Wintersweet seedling planting

The first step is to choose healthy and plump seeds, soak them in warm water for 3-4 days, wait until the seed shell becomes soft, then take out the seeds, dry them, and plant them. Use loose, fertile, breathable, and well-drained soil, such as humus soil, sandy soil, peat soil and other organic soils for planting.

The second step is to insert the wintersweet seeds into the soil and plant them at a spacing of 16 cm. Ensure that they are watered adequately. After planting, cover them with a layer of soil and fix them with your hands.
